The Man behind the Mic

My voice acting career began at the tender age of seven, when I had a bit part in a local story Sir Beavis and Ascupart (well, OK not so much a bit part, I played the giant Ascupart!). From that moment on I was hooked on acting, I loved it.

Particularly storytelling.

My literary talents at school didn’t exactly shine due to my undiagnosed dyslexia. However, I learned words by getting to know their rhythm, and that became a central pillar of my narration style to the present day.

In my twenties I trained as a hypnotherapist and discovered the magic of using language to inspire the imagination, or as a hypnotherapist would say, the subconscious. Thanks to my hypnotherapy training I am able to take a listener into a story and leave a lasting impression far beyond the audio.

My first narration gig was telling folklore stories at local stately homes, of course ghost stories were always a favorite, but I covered many topics in my evenings regaling the visitors with tales of yore.

I’m a beekeeper!

I rescue abandoned dogs.

I can’t sing. I can’t even hold a tune in a bucket! But I will belt out a tune in the car.

The first book I read was Frankenstein (which probably explains A LOT!).

My computer skills are all self-taught. I got into it out of necessity, but found I had a rather disturbing knack for it.

I’m heavily dyslexic…but guess you knew that one already.

I am completely camera shy thus very few photos exist of me anywhere.
